Astronomy & Astrophysics GOODS - Herschel : a population of 24 μ m dropout sources at z < 2
Using extremely deep PACS 100and 160 μm Herschel data from the GOODS-Herschel program, we identify 21 infrared bright galaxies previously missed in the deepest 24 μm surveys performed by Spitzer/MIPS. These MIPS dropouts are predominantly found in two redshift bins, centred at z ∼ 0.4 and ∼1.3. Their S 100/S 24 flux density ratios are similar to those of local (ultra-) luminous infrared galaxie...
متن کامل21 2 μ m Laser Sources and Their Possible Applications
The wavelength range around 2 μm which is covered by the laser systems described in this chapter is part of the so called “eye safe” wavelength region which begins at about 1.4 μm. Laser systems that operate in this region offer exceptional advantages for free space applications compared to conventional systems that operate at shorter wavelengths. This gives them a great market potential for th...
متن کاملHerschel : the first science highlights Special feature L etter to the E ditor Herschel - ATLAS : Evolution of the 250 μ m luminosity function out to z = 0 . 5
We have determined the luminosity function of 250 μm-selected galaxies detected in the ∼14 deg science demonstration region of the HerschelATLAS project out to a redshift of z = 0.5. Our findings very clearly show that the luminosity function evolves steadily out to this redshift. By selecting a sub-group of sources within a fixed luminosity interval where incompleteness effects are minimal, we...

We present a summary of the results of two recent precise calculations of the muon anomalous magnetic moment and the electromagnetic coupling on the Z.
متن کاملVVDS - SWIRE ⋆ Clustering evolution up to z = 2 of a spectroscopic sample of galaxies selected from Spitzer IRAC 3 . 6 μ m and 4 . 5 μ m photometry
Aims. By combining the VIMOS VLT Deep Survey (VVDS) with the Spitzer Wide-area InfraRed Extragalactic survey (SWIRE) data, we have built the currently largest spectroscopic sample of galaxies selected in the rest-frame near-infrared. In particular, we have obtained 2040 spectroscopic redshifts for a sample of galaxies with a magnitude measured at 3.6µm (m 3.6) AB < 21.5, and 1255 spectroscopic ...
